The Beginning of Lue + Riley and Life as a Traveling Business Owner with Pangshua

I have always been a firm believer that every piece of jewelry tells a story. Many of us have different fashion styles, but one thing that goes with any simplistic outfit is a pair of earrings. They can bring such inspiration, such creativity and such uniqueness to one's overall personality and ensemble. Pangshua’s craftsmanship is unique, beautiful and adds elegance to anyone’s style.

Her vision of what an earring symbolizes and represents for all women is inspiring, while she is inspiring others to “live with the deep conviction that she is worth and that she is treasured”.

Pangshua is living the life that many of us dream of. She is traveling while creating the biz of her dream. She doesn’t stay stationary for long, but the impact she has on others, the time she takes to learn and invest in creatives much like herself, is truly remarkable.

Because you are moving all the time, how do you move your supplies? When I first started, I would do really simple collection releases and it was first come first serve. I started to repurpose old jewelry pieces. I would break old necklaces apart, so that when you bought something it truly was one of a kind. As my customer base grew, I just started to begin studying the trends, which helped me build my inventory and my supplies. We literally live in hotels and temporary apartments. So everything “studio” - I use this word lighting because all I use is  desk or table or some sort - and try to keep everything in boxes or some kind of system but it’s a total mess. Unpacking and packing it every time we move – it gets a little harry.

You are always in a new place, how do you send your products to your clients? I literally go to the nearest place I can send a parcel - Pangshua says with a chuckle. What do you think your biggest learning curve was when starting a creative business? I didn’t expect how much work I needed to do in regards to social media and branding.

I think you look at these social spaces and think “oh this easy, anyone can do that,” but the intentionality of the content that you are placing out there - boy that’s a lot of work. I had no clue. So, I have this new found respect for content creators and photographers. I mean you are literally telling a story, finding images and you know, trying to find things that flow with your brand – that to me was the BIGGEST learning curve.

Though traveling around with your creative business can be a challenge, Pangshua shared something that is touching and all us creatives can understand the momentum behind it. What brings her such joy when she is in a new city is finding local vendors to work with. She encourages and supports local creatives wherever she is.

I’m getting to support a real family here,” Every time she is at a new place, she purchases products and listens to their business stores, creating such a personal connection. That's true creative.
