Creative Brand Strategist + designer– what she does and how she helps creatives build their brand

We had the opportunity to hear from Katelyn, the creative brand strategist and designer behind HelloBrandCollective. Katelyn's passion for helping creatives build their brand both strategically and visually, inspired us. Not only is she a beautiful designer, but it is so easy to connect with her. We wanted to share a little about her as one of the first creatives on We're All Creative!

"I have a huge passion for brand strategy and helping business owners find purpose in their passions, form a business they feel clear and confident about, and give them an actionable strategy they can work from."

Why did you choose to help creative entrepreneurs instead of ALL entrepreneurs?
It's important that creatives understand their passions mean something and can be more than just a creative hobby. Creatives are under appreciated and often taken advantage of because we love what we do and will do it for anyone. I think it's important for creative business owners to understand the separation between business and passion and learn how to find the perfect balance between them through their brand!

What does your day to day look like?
My days can look very different week-to-week because I usually delegate my tasks out for the week each Monday. I always start my day by checking my email and Instagram messages and sending out any follow-ups I may need to send. Some days are delegated to content creation and scheduling, and some days are delegated to client work, but I usually can't do both in the same day...my creative juices have to be flowing to design, haha!

How do you reach your desired audience?
You reach your audience by finding them. I myself am an online creative, so I hang out where I know my ideal customers will be which is mostly Instagram!

What do you think is the number one thing creative entrepreneurs come to you for? What guidance do they typically seek?
Positioning. Creatives know what they love doing, know how they want to do it, but can't seem to position themselves as a business in their industry. This can be caused by a variety of issues (which usually bleed into one another) like brand messaging, packages and pricing, the design of their brand, their website, etc.

Then, we wanted to know one more thing. An important question you'll find us asking very often here.

What does creativity mean to you?
To me, creativity is passion and expression. It's an outlet for you to express yourself, be happy, and be in your zone of genius.
